Supplementary Data Index

We are happy to share the release of the Supplementary Data Index accompanying the article “Unlocking the potential of PubMed Central supplementary data files” in Bioinformatics Advances.

Over the past two years, we systematically extracted and indexed text from approximately 85% of all supplementary files associated with open-access articles in PubMed Central, generating 35M searchable documents that extend beyond abstracts and full texts. The index captures key scientific information (e.g. accession numbers, database identifiers, structured biological information, ...) that are often not retrievable through standard literature searches, thereby improving discoverability and supporting more comprehensive, evidence-driven exploration of the biomedical literature.
