Professor position in information sciences at HES-SO / HEG Geneva
The HES-SO Geneva is seeking for the Information Science department of the Haute Ecole de Gestion:
An associate professor in Information Monitoring and Analysis at 80 - 100%.
The HEG Geneva is part of the HES-SO Geneva whose mission is to train future high-level professionals in this field. In this context, the Information Science sector of the HEG Geneva recently revised its framework study plan to better respond to technological developments and the needs of the labor market. From now on, the study plan is made up of four main axes: Libraries, Archives, Information monitoring and management and Information technologies, including software development and information retrieval.
To help the Information Science sector support institutions, organizations and companies in their digital and sustainable transformations, HEG Geneva is looking for a candidate to benefit from a strong experience in managing change and innovation in sectors that are influenced by information sciences. This person must be able to forge close links with professional circles at the cantonal level, national and international.
The main missions for this position are the following:

Teach courses in the areas of Monitoring and Information Management and Analysis for Bachelor, Master and continuing education programs, mainly in at least two or preferably three areas out of the following specializations:
- Integration of monitoring into business strategy
- Use of specialized monitoring platforms
- Artificial intelligence and advanced analytics
- Predictive and prescriptive analysis / Foresight / Horizon scanning
- Real-time analytics / Social listening
- Modern knowledge management (AI, RDF)
- Data protection and ethics

Contribute to the development and evolution of training programs by ensuring that they are aligned with the needs of the job market and technological advances

Supervise of Bachelor's and Master's work

Writing - often in English - and conduct of research projects funded by research agencies, Swiss and/or international funding (SNF, InnoSuisse, Horizon2020, etc.) or defined by national strategies (swissuniversities Open science, etc.) linked to its specialization

Implement research projects and service provision for professional circles and companies linked to its specialization, at the local, cantonal and federal (and/or international) level

Promotion of research in the form of articles published in scientific journals, conferences and general public publications

Administrative and organizational tasks related to teaching and research areas. Profile/Skills:

2nd cycle diploma from a higher education institution in information sciences or a related field. A doctorate (PhD) related to the field of teaching and research is an asset

Teaching experience at both Bachelor and Master level or even strong continuing education desired -Professional experience of at least five years in the field of library science and/or Information science with a focus on new trends in this field

Practice of conducting applied research projects and providing services, as an applicant principal and with obtaining research funds

Ability to integrate into a changing environment

Motivation to work as a team and pursue a common ambition

Ease of teaching, communication and writing in French and/or English.
If the selected person does not meet all the conditions for access to the title of associated professor immediately, a commitment under a fixed-term contract, for a maximum duration of 6 years, in the position of assistant professor with conditional pre-tenure may be propose.
